About the Position

We are now taking important steps forward regarding the promotion and preventive safety work with our children, youth, and parents in Norrtälje Municipality! We are looking for a coordinator for parenting support for the social services department. Norrtälje Municipality aims to be Sweden's safest municipality, and parenting support has a mission to work early on preventive and promotional efforts within the area of parents and other important adults. The focus is on the upbringing conditions of children and youth, early promotional and preventive measures, and participation. Job Description

As a coordinator for parenting support, your role includes coordinating, administering, and leading the parenting support groups, theme evenings, and lectures offered within the organization. This primarily involves groups such as ABC (for both younger and older children), FÖS (Parenting in Sweden), as well as other parenting support groups like BiFF, Hanna, and Theo. You will support parents of children aged 0-18 years with general social preventive measures, as well as through individual structured advice and support conversations. Your tasks also include monitoring the field of parenting support and following up and evaluating the interventions to develop the organization.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work (or other education deemed equivalent by the employer), preferably with further training in family work, family treatment, or similar. You are an educated group leader and supervisor for parenting support programs. Training in prevention knowledge, risk and protective factors, and preventive work is also meritorious, as well as proficiency in multiple languages. The role requires documented experience in preventive work and early support for parents and families, as well as experience in conducting parenting support training/groups. You have documented experience in collaboration, both within and outside your own organization, as well as in coordinating, administering, documenting, and following up on operations. It is desirable that you have experience working in vulnerable areas and with families from diverse backgrounds.

You are computer literate and can manage administrative systems, as well as the Office suite, as documentation and follow-up are part of the coordination assignment. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have a good ability to formulate reports, informational texts, brochures, and similar materials. We are looking for someone who can see and meet parents' resources and challenges, both independently and through colleagues. You see the whole organization, opportunities, and new solutions. You view collaboration as the way forward for family-centered support. About the Workplace

Currently, an exciting project is underway between parenting support and the social services' open care, which means that the workgroup consists of six employees. The project runs until May 2026 and aligns with the transition to a new social services law with a greater focus on preventive work. This position is one of the regular positions as a coordinator for parenting support. The organization is under the social services department, unit for safety, security, and IT.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent full-time employment. A probationary period may apply. Evening work may occur. Start date by agreement. Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously during the advertising period.
